Cover sheets may be added to any receipt as the first page(s) of the receipt PDF attachment. The new cover sheet feature will be added to the receipt prior to emailing the receipt.
Possible uses of cover sheets:
- Personalized thank you letter
- Additional instructions
- Inclusion of PDF forms
The cover sheet feature is available for each checkout page separately. Through this flexibility each checkout page may have a different cover sheet as appropriate. For example, a checkout page designed for selling tickets may include the conference or event program booklet. A checkout page designed for donations may include the thank you message. There is no limit on the number of checkout pages an account may have.
The cover sheet has a limit of 500 Kb and may include as many pages as needed – as long as the file size does not exceed the 500 Kb limit. In our internal tests a web optimized document of 20 pages with graphics had a size of about 200 Kb so a 500 Kb size limit should be plenty.
How to add the coversheet:
PDF is the only supported format for the coversheet. PDF documents may be created using the Adobe Acrobat Professional or any other PDF writer application. Once the cover sheet is made follow the steps listed below to add it to any checkout page:
- Login to the administrative system
- Click on Checkout pages link at the top
- Edit and existing checkout page
- easyPages: Upload the cover sheet in the first step of the wizard.
- Advanced Pages: Upload the cover sheet in the settings tab
Please be aware that large cover sheet file sizes increase the size of the overall email. Donors receiving large email files may experience a delay in downloading the receipt. It is highly recommended that the size of the cover sheet be kept to a minimum.
Cover Sheets will also be included for receipts generated through the PaaS and FaaS platform if the WID of the checkout page is included in the code.
